About Us

Western Spirit Ranches was created in the fall of 1999. WSR has is an Idaho State Fish & Game licensed upland bird game shooting preserve located west of Shoshone, Idaho. Our Little Wood preserve is loaded with wild birds as well as thousands of our stocked pheasants.

We are open from August 15th to April 15th. WSR is one of the few upland gamebird shooting preserves that offers outfitting and guided  solo, group and corporate hunts.

WSR is licensed by the Idaho outfitters guides board. You can bring your own dog or hire one of our guides who will provide highly trained pointers.

Additionally our hunters are not restricted to state sanctioned bag limits and are legal to harvest male and hen birds alike.
WSR allows and even encourages youth hunting to help preserve the heritage of hunting. Anyone who can obtain an Idaho hunting or shooting preserve license is welcome on our preserves where safety is our number one priority.

Our guides are first aid certified, trained in upland gamebird hunting, expert dog handlers, and professional game processors.

We offer corporate, party, group, or individual hunts. Home cooked catered meals are available in our lodge upon request.  We also have RV parking and have information for local lodging.
